Membership – how to join our choir

New adult singers are always welcome. No previous choral experience is required, nor is there an audition, but the ability to sing in tune is expected. It is not essential to be able to read music, but the works we perform can be challenging and it is expected that each singer will learn their part and, if necessary, practice between rehearsals. Members who attend less than 50% of the rehearsals for a concert are not normally allowed to sing in that concert.

There is a very reasonable membership fee of £55 per year. (A reduced fee applies to Christ’s Hospital staff.) The fee is payable for a full year or any part of the year (i.e. the full fee is payable whether a member sings in one, two or all three concerts.)

Rehearsals are held at 7.30pm. in the Court Room at Christ’s Hospital, Horsham. There are no rehearsals during the School’s holidays or half term holidays. The final Thursday rehearsal before a concert is always held in the concert venue. (There is always a “dress” rehearsal on the afternoon of a concert, and it is a requirement that this be attended if singing in the concert.)
