Christ's Hospital Choral Society
Welcome to Christ’s Hospital Choral Society
of Horsham, West Sussex a choir privileged to rehearse and perform at Christ's Hospital School. Members come from around Horsham and we sing a broad range of music, largely classical.
Our four concerts a year are atmospheric, beautiful, and very enjoyable for both singers and audience.

Join Us
We are a choir for adults associated with the famous school near Horsham, West Sussex, formed in 1988 so that members of staff and people from the wider community could sing a range of choral music.
All voices are welcome – Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass
No connection with the school is necessary to belong.
We rehearse on a Tuesday evening at Christ’s Hospital and perform three or four concerts each year.

Programme 2025 – 2026
Our summer concert will take place on Saturday 20th June 2026. with a programme that leans towards American composers and musical styles including:
A choral selection from Bernstein’s ‘West Side Story’, Bob Chilcott’s ‘A Little Jazz Mass’, Aaron Copland’s ‘Old American Songs Choral Suite’ of ‘Ching-A-Ring Chaw’, ‘Simple Gifts’ and ‘The Boatmen's Dance’ plus ‘Long Time Ago’ and music by Gershwin. Tickets will be available here shortly.
Completed events :
On 1st November 2025 we held a very successful workshop with Adrian Bawtree on Dvorak's 'Mass in D major' with choral singers from all over the South East.
Our first concert of our 2025 - 2026 season took place on Saturday November 15th 2025 when we performed Dvorak's 'Mass in D major', Durante’s 'Magnificat' and Tarik O'Regan's 'Triptych' in Christ’s Hospital Chapel to an appreciative audience.
Our ever popular Christmas Concert took place on Saturday 20th December 2025, also in Christ’s Hospital Chapel. The programme included Finzi's 'Et in terra pax', a poignant and atmospheric piece perfect for the festive season and, as always, several favourite carols which the audience joined us in singing - Good King Wenceslas , Joy to the World, Hark the Herald Angels sing - and more.
The annual 'Angus Ross' concert was held on 22nd March 2026, when we sang John Rutter's 'Requiem' with Christ’s Hospital School Choir and Orchestra in Big School, Christ's Hospital.
